A Theological Foundation for New Mathematics
The primordial resource is an object undifferentiated. That is, it is one thing without forms or structure.
But this thing can be sourced and transformed into other resources by means of action. And as a result, this primordial resource is non-depletable. That means there is no amount of action that would render the primordial resource depleted, as the primordial resource is the only thing that exists in essence, within creation, beyond which there is only God. So, you and me, as humans, and everything else, is made out of this primordial resource that comes from God. The difference between this material experience of existence and whatever we may produce as we exploit and transform resources, is that the action necessary to account for our existence is 1) initially external and 2) mediated by God through nature. Now, this is not to equate other people with the unfettered Will of God, but to define internal and external action. That is, once we exist and accept the conditions of our existence, we need not know how, exactly, we came to be, or what actions, precisely, led to our individual existences, to be able, by action, to transform resources. All we need to know is that we exist and have some transformative powers. As a corollary, in reproduction, we may act in such a way that, in concert with nature, another human being is brought into this material existence. Yet, the actions of our descendants are external to us, as our actions are external to nature. This does not mean that any action is external to God. But it does mean that any action is external to the Primordial Resource.
Because primordial resource, once extracted and informed and transformed, is not primordial anymore.
If we are to consider the ancient belief in God as a prime motor, this would mean God's actions are external to the Primordial resource. Then, we would ask what actions conform God.
But we would like to say instead, in full Catholic faith, that God is the only ultimate being. That God in His Infinite Wisdom, must have created the primordial resource. That God's existence is unconditional. That God's actions are absolutely external to His Creation. So, in His image, we are capable of acting on His Creation. So, even though our actions are external to the primordial resource, by necessity, primordial resource is internal to all creation. That means that, the same way God created nature by acting on the primordial resource, from within himself, we also possess an internal access to the primordial resource, from which we may produce ideas, form memories, and observe and contemplate God's creation. We may also orchestrate our actions in order to transform resources external to us into what we imagine. Into the configurations we have imagined. This process, which I call a kind of projection of an ideal or imaginary onto material existence, is intrinsic to art.
That being said, in a sense, we could still say that we are godlike creatures. But one major difference is that our existence is conditioned by the existence of everything else God has created and by God Himself. Therefore, we may never transcend or overpower God Himself, but instead, Hope that God rejoices in our actions and their results or products, by aligning them to His Will, so we may have our share in the Kingdom of Heaven.
With this theology as the foundation of our philosophy, let's then explore the primordial resource available to each of our minds, individually, and our God-given powers to, well, create mental objects by the action of thought. In other words, let's create some mathematics!
